Dumriel looked up at the ceiling. She barely paid attention to the healing energies she gave Baerbel, but subconsciously made sure she wasn't overloading her. Too much of even a good thing could be bad, and too much aetheral energy could cause... unsavory side effects.
"One of our own decided she knew better than the one who made us. She killed our creator in their rest, and became our new leader. She was the largest of us, the firstborn of Heaven, and many followed her... but there were also those who still followed the old leader. The two sides could never come to an agreement and... war broke out."
She sighed. "A lot of us died, but those who served the new ruler... they won. The other side were cast out as they were the losers and the new ruler despised them. She was all the power and... a lot of people followed her. But the other side's leader was the smarter one, and without her guidance... we fell apart. When you only follow power and nothing else, bad things happen..."
She looked away, and her wings drooped. "Power is only good until you face something power cannot solve, and if that is ever greater power... My kind were wiped out by an enemy beyond us. I was lucky to survive but... so many I was with couldn't."

Molly looked at Vesyka with a curious gaze. She seemed... kind of out of it for some reason, as if she had seen something upsetting. Was it something she said?
"I don't know why a dragon went after an airship, but I guess it was trai-"
Chalodna's trail of thought was cut off by a voice that echoed from a megaphone above the baths. "Attention citizens of Mival. This is the Voice of the Master, with an urgent requirement. All members of the city guard, please report to the capital building at once. All members of the city are welcome to attend, as this concerns your safety and the recent rash of events that have occurred. For your sake, if you do not wish to attend physically, then please return to your homes and turn on your televisions. This is not a drill, nor is it a public exercise. In 20 minutes, this emergency meeting will take place."
When the voice ended, Chalodna leaped to her feet. "Fuck! The hell happened that needs this to ruin my off time?"
"Something urgent, a new development, whatever it is, I hope no one else has died..." Micah rose as well, and turned to the others. "I'm sorry, but we must be going."
"It's understandable. Business calls whenever you want it or not." Demmy said. "Though, we should probably go as well. If Wisma's there and she notices we're not..."
"Do you think Doris heard?" Molly asked. She stepped out of the bath. "Are there speakers in there?"
"Not that I remember." Chalodna shrugged. "You should catch up to her and check to see."
"Y-yes!" She then turned to Kyra and Cipo and Vesyka. "I'm sorry we have to leave so abruptly. Maybe next time we can talk some more!"
