A swirl of supernatural fog and mist signaled the return of the lupine creature from its hunt. Battered, bruised, and thoroughly beaten, the fiendish dog-like creature limped into the throne room, dripping sickly black blood all across the pristine white floor of the veritable structure of marble. Within the throne room stood rows of ominous, glowing white cages forged from thick ice. Within were the feeble forms of several humans of varying age and gender. They were packed in comfortably tight - there was barely enough room for them to stand, let alone move around and stretch. The cages were guarded by gaunt, man-like creatures with bony talons and gaping, fang filled jaws. The creatures gazed upon their prisoners tirelessly, waiting for their master's call to end them.
Within the throne room, atop a marbled throne adorned with the skulls of untold victims, sat a slim feminine figure clad in a robe as white as snow. Yuria, seeing her loyal servant return, perked up before speaking.
"Ah, mother!" Yuria exclaimed. "You have finally returned!" The woman glanced around, her pitch black hair dancing about as her gaze shifted from left to right. Her expression changed from one of excitement to one of annoyance. "Did you not find anyone of particular interest? And where is your pack? I know I sent you with multiple hounds!"
The feral creature lowered its head in shame, as if to avoid its master's ire. The creature let out a series of low chortles as if in response to its chastising. Silence fell between the beast and its master for several minutes, as a low hum filled the area around them and an empathic connection between the two was established. As time passed, Yuria's face visibly changed from one of annoyance to what could only be described as pure rage.
"Unbelievable!" Yuria yelled before unleashing a blast of ice shards toward the hound, forcing it to make evasive maneuvers. "You, my beautiful creations, my servants of Maledict, the perfect state of life, lost to a cripple and a talking dog?! Shameful! Absolutely shameful! And to think, I was so merciful as to transform you and father into my greatest servants! I've never had a greater waste of resources made in my entire life!"
Yuria unleashed another flurry of ice shards at her servant, forcing the hound to dive for cover behind one of the cages, causing Yuria's assault of instead shred several of her captives to ribbons instead. The cage's guards quickly moved in to consume the mangled remains so as to clean out the cage, much to the cage's inhabitants' horror. This only served to make Yuria even angrier.
"Now look what you've made me do, you worthless mutt! At least father can do something useful!" Yuria spat furiously. "Get out of my sight! Don't come back until you find something useful!"
The hound turned and began to hobble out of the throne room. The creature shook its body, before it disappeared in a swirl of mist and light to please its master once more. As her servant left, Yuria sighed in a frustrated manner before turning one of the cages. Her eyes transfixed themselves upon an older woman who had been attempting to hide from view in the crush of people.
A malicious smile spread across Yuria's lips. Oh well. At least she could extract something useful from some of these people... and provide herself some entertainment with the others.
