"Either or is fine, though I do prefer Scylla"
"No, she cannot fly." Lae sheepishly admitted. "Those wings weren't even supposed to be part of her design, but rather something a former colleague of mine slipped in when I wasn't looking. She thought a crawling wyrm wasn't intimidating enough and tried to design Scylla to be bipedal with wings. Instead, this is what she ended up with, and thankfully nothing detrimental."

Maria ventured a smile. "I'll call you Scylla then, okay?"
The timid expression faded as she realized that she was probably yanking at Asphagel's fur.
"S- Sorry!" she squeaked, releasing the now twisted knots of hair.

Asphagel chuckled. "It's okay. I barely even feel you back there. Compared to what I've been through, you yanking on my fur is nothing."
"And sure, I am fine with that."
The great Hellfire Wyrm moved its way through the desert, the view of Serene's little cottage finally vanishing over a large mound of sand. On Maria's back, Lae let the tiniest of smirks etch across his face. It would take time to get to where Scylla was tracking down the scent, and probably even more time to find this friend of Maria and get them to safety. Hopefully by the time they came back to the cottage, his exo suit would be repaired and fully operational. It felt off to leave it in the hands of the Whisper Demon, but that unease, especially considering what she had done to Lae's old lab in Sheol, meant there was little doubt she knew what she was doing.
But for now, as the sun rose over the dunes, the scientist fae was curious to see how much of his educated guesses in regards to what Maria's friend was like would be true, and what was plainly wrong...
