Hayes's hoopla:

Anzhela Plantonovna Sorokin, a novice sable subdued and abducted by One Ear and Lorina. She has long, curly hair blood red in color, cloudy blue eyes, and prominent cheek bones. She is 5'5'' and 112 pounds. She is flighty and quick to beg for forgiveness, but can be rather underhanded when not closely monitored.

- Buzi
-
Bwakiir, a large, female
Saurian who has found a home away from Sliinthynmrtiin among the
Ruti damons and their patron Soomekh. Her once rich emerald scales have paled to a dusty gray-green under the dessert sun and she wears a
straw cape that she coats with mud from a watering hole excavated especially for her in a protected depression to stay moist. The last quarter of her tail is missing, taken by an enormous, winged predator. She fled her born role in the worker caste to seek a more meaningful life, but nearly perished in No Man's Land. She was only saved by the grace of Soomekh, whom she now serves as a personal attendant. Because the giant is quite self-sufficient though, this means she mostly keeps the vain creature, who is quite fond of her, company. She is on relatively friendly terms with the
damon. They appreciate her role and many seek her company, in all meanings of the term, but she has not embraced their bohemian lifestyle. Tutored in the art of tongues by Soomekh, Bwakiir serves as a translator to the
Ruti and a guide to travelers who enter their land. She is enormous even for a Saurian: six feet tall and almost 430 pounds.
-
Cassandra Wall, a tall, grim woman who works early mornings at the Violet Bar.

- Farah Gula
- Farrah
- Farris
- Firebird
- Gabriela “Gabie” Oolman, the young daughter of Renee. She is seven years old, but often comes across as significantly younger due to her shyness. She will converse at length with those she becomes comfortable with though.
-
Galina Nestovna Popov, a sable promoted to the rank of red-shoulder by Shrike to help her hunt down the gunslinger who crippled her brother. Her golden hair is straight and falls to her chest. One of her eyes is deformed and hooded, so she covers it with a patch. She is vain and wants revenge on One Ear for ruining her eye. She has an unfortunate tendency to get in over her head. Galina is an average 5'4'' in height, but has some heft at 145 pounds.
- Gerd Foe-breaker
- Heitor

- Lynx
-
Marglod, a golden varul who fled to the slums of Mival because her beautiful coat attracted too many Noraagean trophy hunters. She has the same gruff demeanor and violent tendencies as most varuls, but gets along with other races, Noraagean humans being the exception. She is under lifetime ban from the Violet Bar for this reason. Unable to find consistent work, she is homeless and scavenges for food through favors and, failing that, threats. She is a giant even for a varul, 8'7'' and 320 pounds.
-
Mia Burn, a cheerful, redheaded waitress at the Violet Bar almost as new to Lemuria as Demmy and Molly.
-
Nauyaca, a
boran naturalist who serves as the head librarian of the Rosewood Library. Unlike some of Mival's Pientan inhabitants, she did not arrive there, but traveled there from Mata in search of knowledge. -
Vigr, also insultingly called One Ear by Shrike, is a varul previously employed by Alisdre as a slaver. Like Ragnhild, he is atypical for a varul, not keeping the company of his brethren, but he does not have her hidden nobility. He can be cruel and is highly vindictive, especially after discovering the murder of his brother. He is actually rather small for a varul, only 7'9'' and weighing 243 pounds.
- Wisent
-
Wisma, the owner of the Violet Inn. She is polite and poised, but her scarred body, including a missing hand, and possession of a band that appears to be made of Lexian gold makes many think she once lead another, more dangerous life. She is thirty-eight years old and only a couple of inches over five feet in stature, weighing in at approximately 120 pounds.
-
Wolpoch, an elderly boran man with some authority over his kind. He is the oldest Pientan on Lemuria. He is quite small, only 4'9'', but still weighs a healthy 150 pounds.
