Shaman Sagani, the shaman of the seas, looked upon the cold waves bleakly. His eyes gazed to that strange warp in the water, where far too many sea creatures had vanished of late.
He carefully surveyed the frozen shoreline, where trails of various animals led to that dreaded place. He wished he could have prevented them from going there.
The shaman of the cold waves could not sense any life, be it on the grey beach or in the frigid waters themselves. He would have liked to aid lost souls reach the afterlife, but there were none here. The creatures of the sea, that he held such a close relationship with, did not speak to him, despite his desperate attempts to reach out. Sagani disliked feeling this powerless to support them.
The spirit guideās blue eyes grew grave. He only knew of one sort of being capable of causing such unusualness. Unnatural creatures dreaded by his people. Their sinister influence, neither shape nor shadow, spread from the chilly depths to torment and corrupt.
And yet... the lack of souls made the shaman doubt. The dreadful beings he thought of always left lost, confused spirits in their wake. This was not the case.
Sagani lumbered further along the rocky grey beach, lost in his thoughts. He could only imagine what fate had befallen the sea life. His own friend of Beastkind, the walrus-like Manirak, had disappeared as well.
That was when he realized what really was behind the disappearances.
Sagani knew of what happened when a Beast that shared its Blood with a Colossian died: the Colossian died as well.
But he was still alive. The Beast Manirak could not be dead, then. Perhaps this... thing, this unusual disturbance in the water, led not to death, but to somewhere else. Perhaps it was a door of sorts. To another plane. A one-way portal to another world. Like the paths to Himmelen and Helveten.
The shaman was now curious. What could possibly be on the other side of this gateway, if it even was such?
