"She must pay," Zander agreed. His blue eyes glistened with emotion. Not all of it was anger. "I insist I be allowed time with her alive though. She must be questioned for the security of my nation. After that... you will have your vengeance."
"That does not mean we should hinder our own efforts though," the Pale quickly added. "She is... a survivor. It might very well take the intent to kill just to capture her. She cannot be underestimated. That is how she earns the majority of her victories. Though I suspect you realize this now."

The man shrugged. "Honestly, I only really got to see the aftermath of most of her battle. She was very quick on her feet, however, and was adept at utilizing the environment to her advantage from what I saw. She managed to evade several of my flame attacks by doing so...."
The man chuckled, before turning to look Zander in the face. "Where are my manners? My name is Arkos." The robed figure thrusted a hand towards the Paleback.

"Well met," the armored man greeted, clasping Arkos firmly by the hand. "I am called Zander. You will have justice for what was done here. I promise it."

"Good to meet you Zander," the man said with a confident smile. "Well, you make yourself comfortable for now. I'll go gather up some men to help in tracking this criminal."
With that, Arkos sprinted off deeper into the camp, approaching a particularly large group of guards working on one of the buildings....

Sliding off Giruy, Zander stood next to the pale stallion like a sentinel as he further surveyed the damage Lark had done.
A deep, deep unrest rose from his stomach, a storm contained within his weak, human body.
"Achotil'," he whispered mournfully. "What have you done?"

Hidden beyond the line of sight in a tree, and ears ever ready, Aseya had been eavesdropping on the conversation every chance she could get. A little slip through walls here, hide in the grass there... The diminitive fae was enjoying what she heard.
An enemy of this Zander... a murderer and a criminal. This sounded quite interesting to her. Indeed, a scent somewhat similar to Zander's still lingered in this area to an extent. It was already very faint, but it was enough for the fae.
Her list of plans reshuffeled in her mind as she lingered on the scent of the enemy paleback. If she could get to this woman, this enemy before Zander did... Oh this was going to be SWEET revenge! No one treated her so badly after such a mild prank!

After several minutes of gathering, Arkos returned to where Zander was standing. Around four men had joined the robed man, each of them wearing fairly heavy armor and wielding swords and shields. Each of them rode a horse of their own.
"We are ready to head out," Arkos said to the Paleback. "Are you?"

The fair man nodded. "That I am. I am afraid Giruy and I may slow our pace however. We were attacked by a titanic reptile in the forest. I drove it off, but he sustained injury. Lark left her horse behind though. Unless she stole one of yours, she will be moving on foot, so we will still be swifter."
"Oh, yes," he added, recalling something. "Our target... she is called Lark. Or she was. Her crimes technically stripped her of her Pale title, but she told no one alive of her true name."

The man nodded, absorbing all of the information that Zander told him.
"I see, that is indeed good to know. Knowing the name of one's target will make it easier." He paused as he began to turn toward one of the side gates. "By the way - the creature you met as a blood drake. I'm hoping you cleaned your horse's wound well, especially if he was bitten by it. Those wounded by a blood drake tend to bleed out rather fast..."

Aseya's eyes shined in the night lightning. So that was the enemy's name... Lark. Now she had a name to go with the scent, the scent of the one this Zander was after. That was all she needed.
Once more becoming transparent, the tiny fae began to fly off, making sure to not draw attention to herself as she began to follow the scent trail.Where this Lark went, would no doubt be a fun and interesting place to be...
And especially, if she got to her before Zander did.

"I did," Zander nodded. "And I am thankful for it now. I- have never seen a creature so fearsome. Are they common here?"

"Not particularly," Arkos replied, "but they are encountered frequently enough to be a problem. There's a good reason few people travel the roads at night around these parts."
As the group approached the gates, Arkos shouted to the guards in what Zander could only presume was the native tongue of this region. The guards immediately opened the gates for them.
The robed man turned to the Paleback. "Let's catch us a traitor."

Zander returned to Giruy's saddle with a hop and a grunt. He echoed Arkos, though his hate seemed lesser.
"Yes. Let's."
