"We've never known aberrations to breed," Alex said. Then his face darkened. "U- Uh... with each other, that is. Uh...remember the sea monster I told you was one of the worst from our world? The only one that beats him has a lot of kids. From... a variety of sources. Whenever we get a particularly weird abe, it usually ends up being one of hers."

The rammifications and implications of what Alex was saying began to sink into Molly, and confusion and fear consumed her face. "You mean... You mean a mon-monster that can... That can-"
"That can mate and reproduce with a number of different species, and most likely alter its form in order to accomplish that, and any thing else it wants to do?" Demmy bit her lower lip. "So this creature can become whatever it wants to be, and you have no way of knowing if it is her or not until it's too late?"
The table jolted as Molly suddenly stood up. The fear on her face had worsened, and it was clear she was on the verge of breaking down. "I... I need some fresh air. I'm sorry, Alex, but... I NEED OUT."
Demmy tried to grab at her friend's shoulder, but she was just a hair too slow. The woman bolted, almost running at that point, out of the library entrance...

"M- Molly, wait!" Alex cried, but it was likely too late for the panicked woman to hear, so instead he slapped his outstretched hand down on the table in frustration.
"Dammit! I should have lead with the fact that she's not here. I... If she was, everyone would know. She's not a quiet one... fuck..."
He slumped back into his chair and gripped his head. "Sorry, Demmy," he mumbled quietly.
There was a low, impressed whistle. Nauyaca leaned against a shelf.
"Struck out that badly, huh, Alex?"

Nauyaca's statement found hostile ground, and it was from Demmy. The woman's eyes glared at the librarian.
"Shut. Up. Please." She hissed, before sinking back into her seat.
To Alex, her expression softened. " It's not your fault. Molly's... ugh, what's the one character from that stupid movie she'd watch with the red shoes and golden road..."
"Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz?" The blonde red uniformed woman from the upper floor called down.
Demmy shot a glare up at her, but then took a deep breath. "right, right... Point is, Molly tries her best to be, well, there for others, but she's easy to set off if you're not careful, especially with things well outside of her comfort range."

"I'm only teasing," Nauyaca shrugged as she slid into a seat besides Alex. The short woman patted the back of the biologist. "Not everyone is built for change as well as you are, Alex. Why do you think there is a bath of all things in this city? People other than you do not relax by looking for animals that can kill them. Give her time."
The boran looked to Demmy. "That will fix things, right?"
"B... But will she be okay on her own?" Alex asked glumly.

Demmy bit her lower lip harder. "Yes. Usually when she gets this kind of freaked out, she runs straight for her bed, even if she's at work. My guess is, she's already on her way back to the hotel bed to cry her heart out and calm down."
She looked back up at Alex. "I can try to talk to her, but I can't guarantee she'll be in a good state of mind."

"Thanks," Alex nodded gratefully. "U- Uh, I'll stay here and try to get some more research done."
Nauyaca raised a brow. "Do you not have somewhere to be soon?"
"Wh... Oh! Yes! Yes, I do! B- But how did you know?"
"I was eavesdropping," the bora shrugged.

Demmy gave a side glance at the bora, but she could wait for later. Right now, there was more urgent matters to attend to. "Well, if you're going off soon, then I guess me and Molly will just continue research here on our own, IF I can drag her back."
With that, she turned, and darted out of the library.
Up on the top floor, the blonde haired woman let out a relaxing sigh. "Finally... some quiet to just read and enjoy my comics..."

Nauyaca shook her head with a gadflyish smile. "That one is touchy."
"Y- Yeah," sighed Alex. "Sorry for all the ruckus, Yaca. See you later?"
"You know you are welcome any time, Alex," the bora smiled as he left.
