History: The son of a fire giant blacksmith, Yhorm was raised in a secluded village far to the west of the northern plains of Aster. He learned many of his blacksmithing techniques from his father during this time. He had always been told stories by his father of the great kingdom of Muspelheim - the kingdom of the Fire Giants in times of old. His father said that, a dozen generations ago, the Fire Giants had been driven from their city in a terrible war with the humans and the dragons. This piqued young Yhorm's curiosity, who, after coming of age, headed out on his own to find Muspelheim.

However, he soon found himself caught in the midst of two cataclysms - the freezing of the North and the Extinction of the Dragons. Having been forced farther south by the sudden cold wave across the north of Aster, Yhorm was forced to take refuge in the mountains during the invasion from the Abyss by Malchezid. He slew many demons, but was forced to witness many creatures, both draconic and otherwise, be slaughtered relentlessly by the abyssal fiends. He also saw firsthand the awakening of Aster's Final Hope, witnessing the mountainous beast single-handedly destroy the encroaching legions before being banished itself.
Having experienced so much horror in his days already, Yhorm wandered for hundreds of years, traveling throughout Aster with no particular goal. In his journeys, he learned of the world's other cultures and learned the mystical arts of incarnum - a form of magic once thought lost after the War with the Giants and the fall of the old dwarven kingdom. Yhorm came to appreciate other cultures throughout the world, and came to realize there was much he could to help others out. He taught others the arts of incarnum and helped during the many conflicts in the south between warring factions. Eventually, however, Yhorm grew tired of travel and still lacked any inner desires of his own. Tired and lonely, Yhorm traveled up north once more, hoping returning to his old village would help give him closure.
Upon returning to his old village, he found that it was no longer there. There was no evidence of its presence beforehand either - it was as if his people had just vanished. Feeling even more alone now, Yhorm traveled along Bladeback Ridge for many years until he eventually came across a similarly lost Hildegarde. Having found a new companion, Yhorm came to the revelation that, perhaps, he was always destined to help travelers out in the north. From there, he established his encampment and helped any and all travelers that came across Bladeback Ridge and into the Frozen Wastes. In his heart, however, he still yearned to travel to Muspelheim and see what had become of his people...
Powers and Abilities:
Giant's Strength - Being a pureblood fire giant, Yhorm is no slouch physically. Yhorm can shrug off blows from all but the sharpest blades or the strongest warriors, and is physically powerful enough to lift around a ton over his head. He is also skilled at throwing rocks, able to chuck a 100 pound boulder up to 70 feet away. As a fire giant, he is highly resilient to extreme heat, being able to comfortably live in temperatures as high as 600* Celsius with little issue and being resilient to heat-based attacks.
Incarnum magic - Yhorm has learned the ancient secrets of incarnum - a form of magic that manipulates the innate magical life energy of Aster to create magical items. Yhorm most commonly creates magical sandals that let him fly over the ground, a blue-hued helmet that guards his mind from attack, a cape of blue flame that burns those who strike him, and a blue-colored belt that guards his body from disease and venom.
Smithing skills - Yhorm is a master blacksmith, capable of exquisite metalworking. He is also able to craft magical weapons and armor, in addition to being able to create other magical items such as necklaces and rings.
